Noah's Story
Noah* was born with a condition that led to Global Developmental Delay (GDD). It typically presents with a delay in multiple developmental areas such as speech and language, social, cognition, play and motor skills.
Although Noah will continue to make developmental progress, the gap between him and the other children of the same age will widen over time. At the age of 4, children his age would be seen running, speaking and playing around. However, Noah is still unable to walk nor can he speak.
To address some of Noah’s developmental concerns, the care team in Singapore Christian Home have developed rather simple but innovative interventions to improve his GDD condition.
To improve his weak leg muscles, Noah is put on a standing frame for an hour a day to strengthen his leg muscles. This is important as we prepare him to walk when he has gained sufficient strength. Play time is especially challenging as the care team ensures that the toys and apparatus used will aid in developing areas like his speech, hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.

Even sleeping can be a challenge. During the night, Noah may need to be put on a CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) machine to ensure continuous and uninterrupted breathing during his sleep.
This is only one of the many children we care for in Singapore Christian Home. We will continue to strive to do our best – caring and loving these children placed under our care. You can make a difference in their lives by supporting us in making a small donation.
Would you partner us on this important mission? They are God’s special gift for us to care for!
